home!

Just a quick update on how things went today.  When I arrived at the hospital, they hooked me up to the monitor for a while to make sure I was not having productive contractions and that the baby was doing well.  We’re good on both counts!  Little One was kicking away as usual (this baby has been my most active so far), and while I had some contractions, they were not strong enough or long enough to be concerned about at this point.  Then my OB checked me, and I am not dilated.  This is wonderful news, because if I had been, she would have had to admit me to the hospital.  I am on bedrest at home, and while that presents some challenges for our family, it is a lot easier than if I weren’t here at all!  I am able to get up for meals and to use the washroom (“that’s nice of her!” said Rob =), but that’s about it.  Absolutely no running after the boys, she said.  So I will be needing some help over the next several weeks.  Rob is getting a taste of what it’s like to keep things running around here.  As his boss commented, “Now you know what it feels like to be a woman!”  He has been great, though.  (I love you, Rob!!)  I’m so thankful that he is home for the long weekend.

I hope everyone enjoys this weekend with friends and family!  Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Wow, Karen! Glad you’re OK and still pregnant! Sorry to hear about the bedrest, but thankful that you were not hospitalized. That would not be cool.

Please e-mail me to let me know how I can help.

  2. Keep smiling, enjoy the boys from your couch or bed…glad to hear some help has come through, you are in our prayers!
