We heard an amazing message at church yesterday, all about the Supremacy of Christ. I think that this is just awesome, so I had to share. Please take note of the words I have italicized in the following passage, and then watch the video with that in mind.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Isn’t that amazing? The symbol of the cross, where Jesus died to reconcile us to God, is the very structure of the thing that holds our bodies together! What a beautiful physical symbol of our Saviour’s work in our lives. Just as without laminin, our bodies would fall apart, without Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we would have no hope and no future. Jesus holds us together; aren’t you thankful? He truly is in all things! He truly does live in us, as we read in John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…” Praise be to God!
